The HSE Specialist is responsible for:
- Assisting and advising the Construction Superintendents in the safe operation of all construction activities to prevent accidents, incidents, and near misses on Customer construction sites.
- Ensuring compliance with Customer Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as Local Legislation related to HSE Regulations for Construction and Fire Safety.
- Conducting scheduled audits of the Managing Contractor’s HSE policies, procedures, and performance.
- Participating in scheduled HSE audits of construction contractors with the Managing Contractor.
- Collaborating with Customer HSE personnel in the field to review performance and coordinate activities.
- Engaging with construction team members responsible for permitting, QA/QC, and construction to ensure adherence to HSE requirements.
- Planning ahead with these teams to anticipate and mitigate potential issues.
- Working with the Management Contractor to improve HSE practices among construction contractors.
- Supporting all construction contractor programs related to HSE training, safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety programs.
- Assisting in risk assessments and preparing method statements for construction activities.
- Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, maintaining logs, and issuing reports.
- Planning and conducting field drills with Customer HSE and Managing Contractor to familiarize personnel with emergency procedures.
- Participating in HSE meetings related to construction with Customer, Managing Contractor, and subcontractors.
- Assisting in the preparation of the Contractor Monthly Safety Statistics Report.
