Reporting to : Sr. Manager Global Health & Safety Operations
Responsibilities:
- Act as delegate of safety on behalf of the employer (datore di lavoro) for O&M business unit entities.
- Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, with regular reviews, updates, and communication.
- Document, investigate, and recommend improvements for all accidents.
- Conduct safety inspections, report fire drills and alarms, manage risk assessments and lone working procedures, and ensure employee awareness of responsibilities.
- Support investigations into critical H&S issues and drive solutions.
- Engage engineering and procurement in supplier evaluation and develop H&S plans for projects and suppliers.
- Complete risk assessments and job hazard assessments supporting site activities.
- Ensure personnel are trained and aware of H&S requirements.
- Prepare H&S trend statistical data for the organization.
- Review and audit contractor H&S programs, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Assist project teams with technical responses to customers/subcontractors regarding H&S issues.
- Monitor and improve Customer/Owner satisfaction related to H&S.
- Develop robust H&S programs for O&M teams working on solar and battery storage plants.
- Document and control processes, ensuring release through the Document Control system.
- Administer NCR reporting, ensuring prompt investigation, corrective actions, and closure.
- Support Lessons Learned initiatives and oversee site H&S requirements.
- Lead investigations and drive corrective actions in collaboration with Project Teams.
- Interpret engineering drawings and standards, consulting with management or engineering staff.
- Manage internal audit programs, provide training, and coach audit teams.
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of OHS experience in construction, industrial processing, or environmental remediation roles.
- College diploma or university degree in OHS or related field from an accredited program.
- Specific training in Environmental, Health & Safety according to current legislation.
- Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries, high voltage electrical equipment, ARC flash, and construction safety preferred.
- CSP or CMIOSH designations are assets.
- Experience with work platforms, documentation, and management systems.
- Practical knowledge of hoisting, rigging, ground disturbance, fall protection, excavation, heavy equipment, emergency response, electrical safety, confined spaces.
- Understanding of local, national, and European safety requirements and standards.
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpretation skills.
- Process control, lean manufacturing, Lean/Six Sigma experience is advantageous.
- Professional demeanor, detail-oriented, dependable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and cloud-based software.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, coaching, and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel.
