While the reporting line is global, the role primarily focuses on local matters in Italy.

The position involves managing labor relations, investigating issues, and providing daily coaching and guidance to managers, regional leaders, and employees on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation. You will engage with Works Councils and Unions as needed and collaborate closely with the Center of Excellence and Shared Services, serving as an escalation point to ensure compliance with HR and Employee Relations programs. We seek someone confident in handling complex projects and responsibilities, with proven experience working closely with workers’ councils. Autonomy and a proactive approach are essential, as there is no onboarding support—your expertise and experience are critical to succeed.

The role is hybrid with flexible work-from-home options but also requires office presence at Palazzo Pignano (CR), and may involve domestic and international travel annually.

Your Responsibilities :

  1. Offers expert, trusted HR advice across all employee relations areas, including performance, investigations, pay, workplace concerns, policies, separations, and high-risk cases, often requiring innovative, high-level solutions
  2. Manages complex, sensitive, and confidential HR, Human Rights, Compliance, Ethics, and Legal investigations across all business lines
  3. Leads Works Council and union negotiations, contract management, and ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements, requiring experience in complex, conflict-prone social environments
  4. Advises on regulatory compliance, company policies, and union contracts to ensure fair, consistent employee treatment; collaborates with Legal, Compliance, and Human Rights teams
  5. Guides on performance management plans, progressive discipline, and related documentation
  6. Identifies root causes of workplace conflict and engagement issues; resolves complex disputes using deep labor law knowledge and customized solutions
  7. Adheres to service level agreements, ensures timely case handling, thorough documentation, and proper issue escalation
  8. Delivers training and coaching to managers on conflict management, performance, harassment, and other HR topics
  9. Provides emergency response and crisis support, including managing social labor disputes
  10. Conducts exit interviews upon request

Your Profile :

  • Mandatory Degree in Law. Ideally, around 8 years of progressive experience in Labor Relations, combining work as a legal consultant for companies (in a law firm) with direct experience in an HR Labor Relations role within a multinational environment. Also, candidates with fewer years of experience are encouraged to apply, as we will consider overall suitability for the role
  • In-depth knowledge of Italian employment law, union / work council regulations, and HR processes, including handling complaints, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Proven experience managing relationships with unions and works councils, negotiating agreements, and resolving conflicts in complex or tense environments, including strikes and labor disputes
  • Native or bilingual in Italian, fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong judgment, innovative decision-making, and extensive expertise in labor relations and employment regulations, effectively managing multiple complex cases to timely resolutions while optimizing processes and driving business results
