Note: This is a part-time role requiring in-office presence after the opening of our Milan office.

What is an employer of record (EOR)? An EOR is a service provider that allows companies to legally hire and work with employees in foreign countries without establishing their own legal entity there. The EOR establishes its own legal entity in the country and hires employees on behalf of the client, enabling global expansion without setting up multiple legal entities.

About the role

As a Senior HR Advisor supporting Rippling’s EOR service, you will manage the entire employee lifecycle for international hires, from onboarding to offboarding. You will handle employee relations issues, including claims, complaints, leave, and disability management, and respond to HR inquiries from clients. Additionally, you will assist in setting up and testing workflows for hiring, onboarding, transitioning, and termination within our system. This is a foundational role in Italy, offering a unique opportunity to shape our HR services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing policies on leave management, performance management, investigations, claims, and terminations
  • Managing leave of absence, performance issues, termination processes, and legal/regulatory risks
  • Collaborating with product and engineering teams to enhance HR services using technology
  • Handling employee claims related to benefits, workers' compensation, and grievances
  • Responding to client inquiries and developing programs with sales and support teams
  • Establishing efficient processes to professionalize and optimize HR offerings

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of HR advice/consulting experience or internal HR experience in Italy
  • 6 years of full payroll administration experience in Italy
  • Deep knowledge of HR and payroll compliance rules in Italy
  • Experience managing employee claims related to benefits and grievances
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in Italian and English (professional proficiency required)
