Now Hiring: Host – Rooftop Restaurant at Hotel Erwin, Venice Beach

Location: Rooftop of Hotel Erwin, Venice, CA
Wage: $20.32 – $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

About the Restaurant

Perched above the vibrant streets of Venice Beach, our brand-new rooftop destination offers a breezy, elevated experience inspired by Mediterranean coastal escapes. Operated by the Wish You Were Here Group, this open-air venue blends panoramic views, music-driven energy, and thoughtfully crafted hospitality—all just steps from the sand.

About the Role

We’re looking for a polished, welcoming, and guest-focused Host to be the first point of contact for our guests. In this role, you’ll set the tone for the dining experience by greeting guests with warmth, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring a smooth flow of service from start to finish.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and guide guests to their tables with genuine hospitality
• Maintain an organized, clean, and professional entrance area
• Manage reservation and waitlist systems; provide accurate wait times and seating updates
• Answer phone calls and assist with reservation inquiries and general guest questions
• Support with guest belongings (e.g., coat check or special requests) when applicable
• Communicate effectively with the maître d’, managers, and front-of-house team
• Perform opening and closing duties including host stand setup, menu prep, and entrance tidiness
• Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, daily specials, and venue happenings
• Attend pre-shift meetings and participate in training sessions

What We’re Looking For

• Previous host experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or lounge setting preferred
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, polished, and professional demeanor
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods (up to 50 lbs)
• Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
