Job summary

Aethos in Lombardy seeks a motivated General Accountant to join our Finance & Administration team. You will support daily accounting operations across our Italian properties, ensuring accurate financial data and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities include recording transactions, managing VAT registers, AP/AR, ledgers, reconciliations, and assisting monthly closings. Fluency in English and Italian preferred; experience with SAP or ERP systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, VAT, and Italian fiscal regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software and reporting tools.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with hotel departments and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines, both independently and within a team.
• Strong analytical skills: ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights.
• Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting: Record and reconcile daily transactions, including bank transfers, cash receipts, and accruals.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage supplier invoices, payments, and customer billing cycles; oversee cost control and PO validation.
• Registers & Documentation: Maintain VAT registers, general ledgers, and fixed asset records; manage information systems.
