EIS Versilia is looking for a qualified and enthusiasticHistory and Geography Teacherto join itslower secondary (middle school)teaching team. The ideal candidate will bring subject expertise, international-mindedness, and a passion for student-centered, interdisciplinary learning—delivered fully or partially inEnglish (C1 level required).
Key Responsibilities:
– TeachHistory and Geographyto students aged 11–14, with a strong focus on inquiry, global awareness, and critical thinking;
– Design engaging lessons that combinehistorical context, geographic skills, current events, and comparative perspectives;
– Deliver content in English, using clear scaffolding and inclusive strategies to support all learners;
– Incorporateinteractive tools, maps, timelines, multimedia resources, and digital platforms to enhance the learning experience;
– Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects (e.g. humanities + science, geography + sustainability, history + literature);
– Contribute toproject work, research assignments, and interdisciplinary units with a focus on 21st-century skills.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
– Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related field;
– Valid teaching qualification for lower secondary school (or equivalent international credentials);
–C1 certified level of English(CEFR);
– Experience teaching adolescents in middle school or early secondary settings;
– Strong classroom management and the ability to motivate students throughactive and inquiry-based learning;
– Familiarity with digital tools for teaching (e.g. Google Workspace, Padlet, Canva, ThingLink, interactive maps, timeline tools);
– Enthusiasm for global education, intercultural dialogue, and interdisciplinary connections.
Interviews will be conducted between July and early August, either online or in person at our campus.
