Alium in Turin, Italy is seeking an Automotive QA / Testing Engineer to join our team, focusing on validating next-generation automotive software with HIL simulations and OTA updates.

You will design, set up and execute automation test cases on HIL benches, verify diagnostics, and ensure end-to-end OTA deployment validation with cross-functional teams.

This hybrid, 12-month contract offers opportunities to influence vehicle software quality in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Competenze

Automotive QA / Testing Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Automotive QA / Testing Engineer to join our team in Turin, Italy, working on next-generation automotive software validation.

Location: Turin, Italy (Hybrid) C

ontract: Minimum 12-month contract

In this role, you will specialize in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation, vehicle diagnostics, and Over-the-Air (OTA) validation, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure reliable, high-performance vehicle software functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, set up, and execute automation test cases on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches.
• Verify diagnostics communications and fault-handling protocols.
• Validate end-to-end functionality of Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. Create and run complex test configurations, network simulations, and automated test scripts using Vector CANoe.
• Perform software/firmware flashing validation, update rollback, and recovery testing.
• Manage software version management and vehicle software integration testing.
• Collaborate with international engineering teams and local stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in automotive software testing. Core expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, vehicle diagnostics, and OTA validation.
• Hands-on experience with vector toolchain and test automation. Proficiency with Automotive Diagnostics & Protocols: UDS (ISO 14229) DoIP (Diagnostics over IP) CAN / CAN-FD
• Comprehensive OTA Validation experience: End-to-End OTA deployment verification
• Software/firmware flashing validation Update rollback and recovery testing
• Software version management Familiarity with Vector CANoe or similar simulation tools, including: CAPL scripting Diagnostic console configuration Residual bus simulation

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Experience with test bench hardware setup and fault insertion. Strong background in automated test script development.

Languages

English: Professional fluency required for collaboration with international teams.

Italian: Professional fluency is a strong plus
