We are seeking a candidate to establish and lead a team in charge of the engineering of a PV product, from the initial prototype to the industrialization and subsequent launch into production.

We are seeking a candidate to establish and lead a team in charge of the engineering of a PV product, from the initial prototype to the industrialization and subsequent launch into production. The candidate will work at arm’s length with the CTO and the R&D team and will be accountable for meeting business plan objectives in terms of PV module cost reduction and quality targets. The position requires a combination of execution and strong ability to influence the stakeholders, bringing an industrial approach to the whole organization. Cross-functional leadership is essential. This position works closely with R&D, Plant Operation, IT, Marketing and Sales Stakeholders and will report to the 3SUN CEO.

What You’ll Do
In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Product Development: Lead and monitor the entire product life cycle, from initial concept to launch and maintenance phase. Ensure a solid scalable architecture of the product and satisfaction of quality and safety standards
• Industrialization: Design and work together with Operations and Procurement on choosing and commissioning the machinery/production equipment necessary to manufacture the product according to the desired specification (PV performances, yield, throughput, …)
• Product Management Coordination: continuously adjust product specifications, cost and performances according to the requests/constraints coming from the market
• Technological innovation and industrialization: implement together with R&D team new technologies that improve the product and its development process
• Quality Assurance: ensure quality certifications of the product and continuously monitor quality KPI’s coming back from the field, working closely with Operations and the Sales Team
• Product performance monitoring: analyze product performance and collect technical claims and feedback to implement future improvements
• Development process optimization: improve product development processes, ensuring efficiency, speed and quality
• Timing and Budgeting: Plan and manage development deadlines and budget required to guarantee continuous improvement and efficiency

What You’ll Bring
Minimum qualifications needed for this role are:

Required skills:

• Proven 15+ years experience in manufacturing engineering of consumer/business goods
• Ability to set up and run a PLM platform (Product Lifetime Management) and to work in start-up environment
• Engineering Master Degree or similar with fluent English and Italian
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders - from technical to R&D or commercial resources
• Proven ability to understand and communicate business processes, business challenges and associated infrastructure requirements effectively within different business functions
• Proven personnel management and leadership skills, supporting the development and managerial consolidation of the high potential resources already present in the functions
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate closely with Sales colleagues and other stakeholders.

Location: availability to relocate to Catania on a permanent basis
