Competenze

Air and Care Franchise

Within the three Business Units, Air and Care Franchises are responsible for the development and implementation of the Therapeutic Area Strategies. Each Franchise is organized by stage of development with fully empowered and enhanced teams of:

  • Pipeline Development Team - focused on delivering innovation and program leadership accountabilities in close collaboration with R&D,
  • Commercial Portfolio Management Team - focused on maximizing benefits for patients and the full potential of marketed/close-to-launch assets, including Life Cycle Management strategies.

Air and Care Franchises are also supported by the Medical Affairs, Value & Access, and Business Excellence & Customer Experience Global functions.

Within these departments, you will actively support the Air and Care Franchises businesses. These units are responsible for the development and implementation of the Therapeutic Area Strategies. Each Franchise is organized by stage of development with fully empowered and enhanced teams of:

  • Pipeline Development and
  • Commercial Portfolio Management.

Who we are looking for

Purpose

Reporting to the Vice President Pipeline Development AIR, the Head of New Product Planning will lead the New Product Planning team to execute AIR Franchise vision and optimize pre-POC pipeline programs with market and commercial insights and assess external assets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide future market vision and treatment landscapes for relevant disease areas in priority markets, guided by a patient-centric mindset.
  • Partner closely with Business Development to execute franchise pipeline strategy.
  • Oversee all external asset screening and due diligence for the franchise.
  • Refine commercial assessment and business case development methodology for pipeline assets to enable effective decision-making.
  • Serve as the central integrator of information, insights, and perspectives from global (Marketing, Market Access, Competitive Intelligence, Medical Affairs) and regional (Region heads, affiliates) stakeholders to shape early commercialization strategy.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders (e.g., Center of Innovation, Digital) to further pipeline development.
  • Maintain a high level of competitive intelligence within responsible disease areas.
  • Develop team members and continuously improve internal processes and methodology where needed.

Experience Required

  • Approximately 8 years of Business/Commercial, Strategy, or Corporate Development experience within the pharma/biotech/biopharma space.
  • Experience in financial modeling is required.
  • Consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience in pulmonary diseases and/or rare diseases preferred.
  • Experience on drug development program teams preferred.
  • Experience in global strategic marketing highly preferred.

Education

BS/BA in a relevant academic field; MBA, MD, PhD, or other graduate degree strongly preferred.

Soft Skills

  • Outstanding strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity and developing solutions in the absence of complete information.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and executive communication skills; ability to make the complex clear.

Location

This role is based in the US in the Boston area.
