A high-growth B2B SaaS platform is seeking a Head of M&A to establish a new function focused on acquisitions. This role involves leading deal sourcing, execution, and stakeholder engagement across Europe. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in M&A, particularly within PE-backed environments, and will possess excellent commercial and stakeholder management skills. This position allows for significant autonomy and strategic influence from day one.

The Role : Head of M&A

140,000 - €200,000 + bonus +MIP

Finatal is partnered with a high-growth, B2B SaaS platform expanding rapidly across Europe Backed by a top-tier global private equity investor. With a mandate to accelerate inorganic growth, the business is launching a brand-new M&A function to drive a targeted buy-and-build strategy in a fragmented SME market. This is a pivotal first hire into the function, an opportunity to build the playbook, source and execute deals, and work closely with both the leadership team and PE fund to shape the company’s growth trajectory.

We’re hiring a commercially astute, hands-on dealmaker to own the full cycle of sourcing and executing acquisitions across multiple European markets.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deal Sourcing & Execution :

Lead the origination, screening, and execution of strategic acquisitions in the €10–15m revenue range.

  • Market Mapping :
  • Build relationships with founders and management teams across the target market, often in unstructured or founder-led environments.

  • Process Leadership :
  • Develop and implement the M&A toolkit, internal processes, and reporting frameworks from the ground up.

  • Stakeholder Engagement :
  • Work directly with the CEO, PE sponsors, and board to deliver on ambitious inorganic growth targets.

  • Cross-Border Transactions :
  • Navigate multi-jurisdictional deal complexities, ensuring smooth execution from LOI to closing.

  • Buy-side investment / fund experience, corporate development in Tech or Saas, with proven M&A execution track record.

  • Experience :
  • Exposure to full deal cycle, ideally in high-growth, PE-backed environments.

  • Commercial Acumen :
  • Ability to operate beyond the numbers, comfortable building rapport with SME owners and adapting to diverse cultures.

  • Stakeholder Management :
  • Confident working with C-suite, boards, and investors in an international context.
