With an annual turnover of 4.1 billion euros and a team of approximately 18,000 employees, the company is distinguished by its wide range of products, combining exclusive and premium brands with its proprietary label.

The Role

We are seeking a Head of HR Management Operations who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the efficiency of HR administrative functions, with particular focus on payroll management, personnel data administration, and regulatory compliance. This role has a direct impact on the smooth operation of HR processes, the accuracy and timeliness of payroll, and the optimization of operational activities supporting the company's objectives and employee experience.

Main Responsibilities
  1. End-to-end management of the payroll process for all employees, ensuring punctual, accurate, and compliant execution, including handling taxes, benefits, and deductions according to current regulations.
  2. Coordination of HR operational activities: onboarding, offboarding, attendance and leave management, time tracking, and personnel data administration.
  3. Identifying opportunities to optimize and digitize HR and payroll processes, promoting efficiency and accuracy through the use of technology and best practices.
  4. Ensuring HR activities comply with local, regional, and international regulations, including tax obligations, company policies, and labor laws.
  5. Supervision of HRIS (Human Resources Information System) management and maintenance, ensuring data integrity and effective use for analysis and reporting.
  6. Coordination, training, and development of an HR team of 7 members, fostering a high-performance culture and adherence to procedures.
  7. Providing analysis and reports related to payroll, organizational structure, and HR KPIs to support strategic decision-making.
  8. Managing relationships with external providers (e.g., payroll and benefits) and collaborating with internal stakeholders (Finance and Legal) to align with business needs.
  9. Educational background in economics, law, human resources, or equivalent.
  10. At least 15 years of overall managerial experience in the HR sector, including 8-10 years in operations and payroll.
  11. Preferential background from sectors such as retail, large-scale distribution, organized catering, logistics, and large brands operating on a large scale.
  12. Consolidated experience in operational payroll management (not just payroll processing but also contractual, extension, post-pay, and union relations), in contexts with high organizational complexity (e.g., over 100 monthly variations).
  13. Excellent knowledge of the English language.
  14. Knowledge of HR management systems: SAP SuccessFactors (preferred) and Zucchetti Project.

We seek an authentic, empathetic personality capable of managing interpersonal dynamics with balance and authority. Personal stature and the ability to be recognized as a point of reference will be essential for the effectiveness of the role.

Work location: Milan (City Center) with 2 days of smart working per week.
