Responsibilities

The credit officer will manage risks associated with Brazilian counterparties, including:

  • Analyzing credit quality of corporate and financial institution portfolios in Brazil.
  • Approving or declining credit transactions under delegated authority, ensuring alignment with risk appetite and compliance with standards.
  • Assessing transaction risks, recommending risk mitigation, and defining credit terms in legal documentation.
  • Structuring transactions for optimal risk/return outcomes.
  • Monitoring portfolio quality and providing ongoing risk oversight.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance.
Leadership and Communication
  • The VP / Head of CRM Brazil interacts with senior management and represents CRM in risk committees.
  • Acts as a liaison between business units and credit committees.
  • Engages with local regulators due to regulatory requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 5-9 years of credit experience in Brazil or Latin America, with expertise in corporates or financial institutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of capital markets products, derivatives, and banking products.
  • Experience in approving derivatives and commercial credit, and negotiating related documentation.
