Job Description:
For a global company in the digital sector, we are looking for a Head of Corporate Media Relations to join the Corporate Communication and Media Relations team within the Global Commercial function. This role is pivotal in shaping and maintaining the organization's public image and reputation, ensuring effective communication with the media and the public.
The objective is to increase and enhance the presence and influence of the brand across main markets, conveying strategic storytelling around the company's vision, mission, brand, and product messages, and optimizing their amplification across all media channels.
Main responsibilities:
- Define editorial plans for corporate storytelling, product launches, and special projects.
- Coordinate global communication plans across markets with internal teams and external partners; act as the primary contact for media inquiries and relationships with journalists, reporters, and media channels.
- Ensure consistent and aligned messaging across all media communications.
- Manage the writing, editing, and distribution of press releases, ensuring accuracy and timely dissemination.
- Define and coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and interviews.
- Manage relationships with partners and external PR agencies.
- Develop proactive product communication plans to amplify B2C relationships; organize press trips and events.
- Coordinate the corporate communication budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies and operations; track and monitor media coverage, key metrics, and trends.
- Assess and manage the organization’s public perception and address negative coverage proactively.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including PA/PR representatives, executives, internal communication teams, and global functions, as well as with Global Commercial for product communication.
Relevant experience and skills:
- Studies in Communication, Public Affairs, or equivalent.
- Extensive experience (10-15 years) in international media relations and PR, ideally in global corporations.
- Expertise in developing and implementing media strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Ability to analyze media coverage, market trends, and public perception to inform strategies.
- Strong network within journalism, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with journalists, media outlets, and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of digital media and communication.
- Strong storytelling skills: ability to craft clear, compelling press releases, statements, and media materials.
- Crisis management expertise: developing and executing crisis communication plans.
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity in media activities.
- Ability to collaborate with interfunctional stakeholders and focus on customer perspectives.
- Fluency in English and embracement of diversity as a global citizen.
- Sense of responsibility, structured and analytical working style, teamwork, and strong communication skills.
