We are looking for a HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION to lead and coordinate all operational activities in Italy, ensuring the efficient execution of photovoltaic projects during construction.

The HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION will join the construction team and report directly to the Managing Director Italy. He / She will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational functions ensuring the efficient delivery of photovoltaic plants while guaranteeing timelines, budgets and quality standards.

He / She will work closely with internal project managers, supervising the coordination of external contractors and service providers involved in engineering, procurement and construction.

He / she will also contribute to assessing and gradually structuring in-house EPC capabilities, in line with the long-term operational strategy of the company.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full execution cycle of photovoltaic projects in Italy from ready to build through construction and commissioning- Supervise and coordinate all operational functions in Italy, including project management and ensure effective coordination of external EPC contractors, engineering, procurement, construction and HSE- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, in compliance with quality, safety and regulatory standards- Lead operational planning, including resource allocation, budget control, timeline management and risk assessment- Oversee contract negotiation and management with external suppliers, contractors and stakeholders- Ensure compliance with all relevant permitting, grid connection and environmental requirements during project execution

He / She must demonstrate strong leadership and delivery-focused mindset, with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously while maintaining clear priorities and timelines.

The role requires a leader with strategic vision and practical mindset, excellent organizational skills, autonomy and the adaptability.

  • Transversal missions

In addition to project related activities and business development activities, the Employee shall be involved in some transversal missions contributing to the global success of the GDS group :

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and other executives in defining and implementing the company’s operational and strategic roadmap- Drive continuous improvement of internal processes and workflows to increase operational efficiency- Contribute to the strategic evaluation and progressive structuring of potential in-house EPC capabilities
  • Preferred Experience
  • University degree in Engineering (Electrical, Energy, Industrial) or a related technical / management field. An advanced MBS is a plus- Proven experience (at least 5 years) in the execution and delivery of utility-scale solar PV projects, with a solid understanding of EPC processes, grid connection and permitting frameworks- Autonomous, proactive and able to structure workflow in growing organization- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; able to navigate complex environments and manage multiple external stakeholders- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments- It being understood that the Company can assign you to a different location, in accordance with the applicable law and the provisions of the NCBA.- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Fluent in Italian and English, French would be a plus
