Position Overview :

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Construction to oversee our operations in Milan. Reporting directly to the Country Manager, the Head of Construction will play a critical role in leading and managing the construction of large-scale photovoltaic projects. This position will be responsible for driving all construction-related activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage all construction activities, including procurement, cost management, scheduling, engineering, logistics, and H&S compliance for large-scale solar projects.
  • Organize and optimize construction workflows to ensure maximum efficiency at minimal cost while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
  • Develop, manage, and track project schedules and budgets, ensuring the appropriate allocation of resources and timely completion of tasks.
  • Oversee the allocation and management of internal resources, including human resources, administration, and technical teams, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure all construction work aligns with client expectations, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise all stages of construction, from planning and resource allocation to final delivery, ensuring projects meet or exceed quality and compliance standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction through consistent communication and performance excellence.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and innovative work environment that encourages teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to all quality, environmental, and safety regulations, including waste management practices and the implementation of preventive measures.
  • Oversee the delivery of all necessary documentation, including technical reports and compliance records, to clients upon project completion.
  • Advise and guide clients on best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and reducing risk.
  • Lead new project origination efforts, leveraging commercial and technical skills to support business development and project acquisition.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Native Italian speaker with professional proficiency in English.
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction management for large-scale projects, including 5+ years in a leadership role within the renewable energy or solar sector.
  • Strong technical background in solar energy, with significant experience in utility-scale solar construction.
  • Proficient in project management tools, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel across various construction sites in Italy.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus, though not required.
