We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to join us here at The Hoxton, Florence.

The Hoxton is getting ready to open its doors in Florence, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region and home to some of the world’s most famous masterpieces of Renaissance art, architecture, and monuments. This vibrant city is packed with culture and is the birthplace of gelato, making it our second home in the country.

The Hoxton in Florence will feature 160 beautifully designed bedrooms of varying sizes, a large ground-floor restaurant, bar, lobby, courtyard, and a basement meeting and events space.

Reporting to the Head of Rooms, you will be responsible for the overall management of the housekeeping department and team. Your role is to deliver exceptionally clean rooms and public spaces, within budget, with a happy and engaged team.

What you’ll do…

• Lead the team to ensure guests experience spotless and well-presented rooms they want to return to.
• Inspire and manage the housekeeping team by example, creating a supportive and empowering environment, and actively involve them in their development.
• Manage departmental costs, control expenses, and monitor stock and orders.
• Maintain high standards for bedrooms and public areas through SOPs, training, and regular checks.
• Collaborate with other departments (front office, maintenance, F&B) to create memorable guest experiences.
• Participate in partnerships with external housekeeping providers.
• Ensure all SOPs are followed and staff are trained accordingly.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures proactively.
• Be knowledgeable and compliant with all health and safety policies.
• Manage housekeeping stock and monitor all orders.
• Maintain high customer service standards for both guests and internal clients, building long-term relationships with suppliers and contractors.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

• Previous housekeeping experience at a similar level; experience with hotel openings is a plus.
• A natural leader who manages by example and fosters a positive environment.
• Experience with Micros Fidelio Opera or similar front desk systems.
• Attention to detail, with the ability to spot standards lapses from afar.
• A genuine personality, seeking a place to be authentic and contribute meaningfully.
• A passion for hospitality—whether a drink, meal, event, or overnight stay.
• A desire to leave positive, memorable impressions on guests and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively, support team efforts, and have fun along the way.
