Hardware Engineer – PCB Design

Corticale s.r.l., an innovative company in neurotechnology and advanced implantable electronic devices for clinical and neuroscience research, is looking for a Hardware Engineer with experience in the design, simulation, and realization of high-performance printed circuit boards (PCB).

Main Responsibilities

• Design high-performance multilayer electronic boards (analog, digital and mixed‑signal).
• Develop PCB layouts meeting signal integrity, electrical integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.
• Perform circuit simulation and pre‑layout/post‑layout verification.
• Support production, assembly and prototype testing.
• Manage technical documentation (schematics, BOM, Gerber files, mechanical drawings).
• Collaborate with the testing and validation team for system qualification.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in designing complex multilayer PCBs.
• Strong knowledge of design and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with high‑speed and mixed‑signal layout techniques.
• Knowledge of best practices for EMC/EMI and noise reduction.
• Ability to interface with suppliers, assemblers, and test laboratories.
• Experience in PCB debugging and testing using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Good knowledge of technical English.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and a teamwork orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical or scientific instrumentation projects.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, FPGAs and high‑speed communication interfaces (LVDS, SPI, USB, Ethernet, etc.).
• Experience with data‑acquisition systems (DAQ) or low‑noise analog front‑ends.
