As a Hardware Design Engineer (Electrical Engineer) on the Smart Glasses team, you will design, build, and test prototype electrical systems for our expanding line of smart glasses. You will be part of a team exploring new concepts through fast iterative prototyping. Your role involves working cross-functionally with teams that will vary depending on the project, including mechanical, industrial design, software/firmware, operations, and manufacturing teams. We seek individuals who excel in team environments, can translate high-level requirements into detailed electrical schematics and layouts, and can transition these designs into high-volume consumer products.

We are looking for system or board-level Hardware Design Engineers (Electrical Engineers) with experience in high-volume consumer products. These systems may include custom ASICs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, audio components, camera sensors, and high-speed I/O. Additionally, you will help build and mentor a team of engineers as we innovate in the field of high-fashion smart glasses.

Minimum qualifications include:

  1. BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  2. Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  3. Experience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent.
  4. Experience with technologies such as oscilloscopes, high-speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generators.
  5. Experience with digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC and PMIC, or Battery Management Systems.
  6. Strong technical communication skills for collaboration across teams.
  7. Experience designing mixed high-speed digital circuit boards, troubleshooting at the board and system level, and familiarity with consumer product development processes.

Preferred qualifications include:

  1. MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  2. Experience with high-speed signaling over DP, MIPI, HDMI, and USB SS.
  3. Experience with IMUs and physical sensor systems, including calibration methods.
  4. Experience with vision and audio systems.
  5. Proficiency in programming languages like Python or C/C++.
  6. Experience with circuit design involving high-speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, or programmable logic.
  7. Background in consumer electronics and mass production environments.
