Job summary

NTT DATA Romania is seeking an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware development for High Voltage Battery Management Systems (HV BMS). You will design schematics, run circuit simulations, validate designs, test hardware, and document results, while collaborating with customers and cross‑functional teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in HW development, strong analog/digital design for automotive applications, and knowledge of HV BMS, Li‑Ion tech, ISO 26262, EMC/EMI,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant HW development experience.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital hardware design for automotive applications.
• Experience with HV BMS and Li‑Ion technologies.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, EMC/EMI design, and FMEA.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end HW development for HV BMS, including schematic design, circuit simulation, validation and testing.
• Create/update circuit diagrams and write test specifications.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation (planning, layout requirements, FMEA).
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams in an international environment.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers as needed.

Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end hardware development of High Voltage Battery Management Systems (HV BMS), including schematic design, circuit simulation, validation, testing, technical documentation, and close collaboration with customers and cross‑functional teams. We welcome applications from both permanent employees and freelance professionals with relevant expertise in automotive hardware development.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Performing development tasks based on existing hardware specifications and architectures
• Creating/updating and validating (worst case calculation & simulation) circuit diagrams
• Writing test specifications and performing hardware electrical test on development samples
• Performing process documentation (planning, module documentation, layout requirements, FMEA)
• Support technical knowledge sharing and provide guidance to less experienced engineers when required.

What You’ll Bring Along

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in HW development
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital hardware design for automotive applications.
• Experience with High Voltage Battery Management Systems (HV BMS) and Li‑Ion battery technologies.
• Good understanding of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) requirements and their implementation in hardware development.
• Knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and hardware robustness requirements.
• Experience in hardware reliability analysis and FMEA.
• Familiarity with electrical simulation tools such as LTspice, PSpice, or equivalent.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and cross‑functional teams in an international environment.
