Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking an R&D HW Engineer to join our Research and Development - Special Circuit Breaker Team based in Dalmine (IT). The role involves developing and integrating embedded electronics for advanced Medium Voltage circuits within our Electrification business. The work model for this position is #LI-Hybrid. You will contribute to the Distribution Solutions Division within the Electrification Business Area in Dalmine. Your main responsibilities include:

• Designing hardware architecture and details, simulating circuits, and developing electronic projects with a focus on analog, power supply, and power electronics.
• Optimizing designs by identifying technical, architectural, and circuitry solutions, ensuring high integration with other product components such as mechanical parts, control systems, and sensors.
• Developing prototypes, creating detailed drawings and documentation, conducting preliminary tests for design validation, analyzing quality and reliability, debugging prototypes, and collaborating on integration with control firmware.
• Preparing technical documentation for production and supporting product maintenance activities as needed.
• Collaborating closely with other teams and suppliers, and coordinating external hardware-related services when necessary.

Qualifications for the role

• Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering
• Up to 5 years of experience in embedded hardware design for industrial applications
• Proficiency with laboratory instruments for studying, debugging, integrating, and testing prototypes, including power supply design, signal integrity, and analog signal conditioning/filtering.
• Experience with EMI design and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, function generators, and electronic board rework.
• Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Proactive attitude, innovative mindset, strong negotiation and networking skills.
• Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
• Demonstrates positive spirit, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and results-oriented approach in both local and international contexts.
