Job title: Groups & Events Sales Manager
Reports to: Director of Sales
Scope and Range
- Achieve budgeted revenues in Events Rooms, Conference, and Banqueting in line with the annual budget and marketing plan.
- Manage all group bedrooms and event bookings according to booking procedures.
- Understand and maintain costing for relevant functions.
- Ensure effective communication with clients and hotel departments to facilitate smooth operations with a team spirit.
Daily Duties
- Seek opportunities in the local market and prospect customers.
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Handle and coordinate all confirmed meetings, events, gala dinners, and special events.
- Achieve revenue targets in Sales, Conference, and Banqueting.
- Coordinate all function bookings per procedures and SOPs.
- Respond to all event enquiries promptly and send proposals accordingly.
- Manage work allocations efficiently, maintaining standards and guest expectations.
- Ensure group bookings have valid options and actively chase proposals before or on the option date.
- Maintain the layout of all function rooms throughout events.
- Manage Opera PMS accurately and completely.
- Send out event proposals, contracts, and billing arrangements.
- Issue Business Event Orders weekly and attend related meetings.
- Promptly handle late additions and amendments.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, prices, and competitors.
- Ensure accurate billing.
- Attend internal and client meetings as assigned.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales and Revenue Department on promotions and sales.
Education
- University degree, Hotel Apprenticeship, or Higher College Education.
Experience
- Minimum five years in hospitality sales, preferably in a 5-star hotel.
- At least two years as a Groups & Events Sales Manager.
Languages
- Ability to work in a multinational environment.
- Excellent oral and written skills in Italian and English.
