Job summary

The Alliance of Bioversity International & CIAT is seeking an Associate Team Leader, Grants Management Unit, based in Rome, Italy. The role oversees day-to-day operations, guides the GMU team, and coordinates a portfolio of grants and subgrants in compliance with donor requirements.

You will oversee contracts, risk management, reporting, and data systems while collaborating with finance, legal, IT, and partners to improve workflows and dashboards. Fluency in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a field related to grants management; postgraduate qualification is an asset.
• Preferably 4+ years in grants or subgrant management in international settings.
• Experience coordinating a portfolio of active grants and subgrants.
• Experience reviewing donor agreements and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day team activities and supervise task-level work.
• Manage a large portfolio of grants and subgrants ensuring donor compliance.
• Support IT and GMU with ERP, Power BI dashboards, and data workflows.
• Monitor team performance and align objectives with work plans.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, IT, donors, and partners.
