A leading humanitarian agency is seeking a Government Partnerships Consultant for Social Protection based in Rome. This role involves developing partnerships and engaging with government stakeholders to support funding for projects impacting millions globally. Ideal candidates will possess an advanced degree and significant experience in partnership roles and social protection financing.

The Global Partner Countries Division (GPC) supports organization-wide efforts to meet resource needs at corporate and country levels through active engagement with governments and public sector institutions. Within GPC, the Thematic Team was created in 2021 to advance WFP’s climate, resilience, social protection, and nutrition portfolio through systematic and strategic fundraising for thematic and development activities, requiring a different approach than humanitarian fundraising.
WFP seeks to fill the position of Government Partnerships Officer for Social Protection, based in the Global Partner Countries Division at Headquarters in Rome, Italy.
WFP relies on voluntary contributions for project funding. Relationships with public sector fundraising partners are crucial for supporting projects that impact millions globally.
Fundraising for the thematic agenda from development partners is gaining momentum following WFP’s Strategic Plan approval. This requires targeted, cross-departmental strategies, especially in social protection financing.
Education: Advanced University degree in International Development, Economics, International Relations, Social Protection, or relevant field.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years in partnership roles.
Fluency (Level C) in English; knowledge of Spanish, French, or Arabic is a strong asset.
