Global Strategic Planning Senior Manager

We are now looking for a new Global Strategic Planning Senior Manager to join our dynamic team in Bologna!

The role will lead global unconstrained demand consolidation and develop/executed global material planning strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials. This role requires strategic thinking, operational expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to align business goals, financial targets, and operational execution. It involves close coordination with suppliers, manufacturing plants, logistics partners, BU, and central functions to ensure a seamless supply chain operation.

What kind of work will you be doing?

  1. Facilitate and lead the operational global SIOP process, including meetings, managing agendas, action items, and ensuring alignment across all functional areas.
  2. Manage global demand consolidation across regions, BU's, and strategic platforms, producing a rolling 12-24 month estimate of unconstrained future demand in units.
  3. Conduct scenarios to manage/prioritize backlog, capacity, growth, and constraints supporting executive decision-making.
  4. Champion change to ensure company-wide adoption of the SIOP process.
  5. Mentor and develop a high-performing global SIOP team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centricity.
  6. Develop and implement global material planning strategies for assigned product lines.
  7. Create and maintain global MPS plans based on demand, capacity, and inventory policies.
  8. Monitor global inventory levels and coordinate local measures to optimize inventory days.
  9. Identify and address potential shortages or excesses in inventory at the global level, deploying actions locally.
  10. Conduct regular inventory audits with regions.
  11. Utilize advanced planning software and tools for data-driven decision-making, leveraging data analytics to drive continuous improvement.
  12. Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and demand teams to align material planning with overall business objectives.
  13. Participate in cross-functional meetings to address material-related issues and develop solutions.
  14. Support new product development and introduction processes by ensuring material availability.
  15. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  16. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in material planning processes.
  17. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency.
  18. Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving supply chain performance.

20-30% travel mostly in US (approx. 1 week per month).

Required qualifications :

  1. University education in management, economics, engineering, or another technical field.
  2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study in business logistics, engineering, supply chain, operations management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  3. 10 years of work experience in similar position.
  4. Excellent knowledge of process management and how to leverage data and software to support processes.
  5. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  6. Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  7. Ability to travel 25%.
  8. Preferred APICs or CPM certifications.
  9. Excellent leadership skills.
  10. Previous experience with regional matrixed companies preferred.
