Job summary

Amplifon is seeking a Global Senior Data Scientist to join the Retail Excellence team in Milan. You will develop advanced analyses, ML models and data visualizations to optimize sales strategies and uncover growth opportunities.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years of data science experience, strong Python/SQL skills, and familiarity with PowerBI and GCP tools. This hybrid role is based in Milan with some remote work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in quantitative fields like Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Computing or Engineering.
  • 3/4 years of experience in data science projects with forecasting, optimization and ML.
  • Exposure to large language models or data governance/quality tools is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with external resources for model development.
  • Advanced Excel and Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work on cutting-edge data science use cases across the sales journey.
  • Apply advanced analytics to extract insights from business data.
  • Build data-driven models to answer business questions.

About the role

The Global Senior Data Scientist will join our Global team of Retail Excellence covering a key role in the development of advanced analysis, machine learning models and data visualization products. With exposure to the entire retail business, you will work to optimize sales strategies to generate new business opportunities and growth.

Key Responsabilities
  • Works on strategically identified, cutting-edge data science use cases that cover the entire sales journey.
  • Use of advanced analytics methods to extract insights from business data.
  • Performs analysis and builds data-driven models to answer business questions and needs.
  • Create hypotheses and experiments to identify hidden relationships to direct new Sales strategies.
  • Develops visualizations and presentations to influence key stakeholders in implementing key recommendations from data science initiatives.
  • Develops machine learning models with the aim to facilitate Sales processes.
  • Collaborate with other team members across Marketing/CRM, IT, Reporting & Analytics to build shared data products, dashboards and advanced analysis.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Experience
  • Degree in quantitative fields like Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Computing and Engineering.
  • 3/4years of experience in data science projects, preferably with experience in time series forecasting, optimization and classical machine learning problems.
  • Previous exposure to large language models or data governance/quality tools and techniques is considered a plus.
  • Able to work in synergy with external resources, helping in the development of models and analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of Office package, with advanced expertise in Excel (pivot, macro, statistics formulas).
  • Proficient with SQL, Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, or Pytorch.
  • Working experience with PowerBI and GCP tools for data science
  • Working knowledge of code versioning and testing.
  • Fluent in English
  • Open minded to change and always seek to improve your way of working, knowledge and attitude.
  • A self-starter approach with the confidence to look beyond the “here and now” for the “what could be”.
  • Have a strong inclination to data analysis combined with same attention to business impacts.

Gross Annual Salary

The reference Gross Annual Salary is approximately in the range of €42.000 – €55.000. The actual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and specific skills and knowledge and also to the educational background. The position is also eligible for an annual Company bonus (‘premio di risultato’ linked to business performance, in line with Company policies.)
