General Description of the Role

The Global IT Network Architect is a key role within the Global IT team, reporting to the Global IT Network Service Manager. This position is responsible for designing, documenting, and evolving secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures across both IT and OT environments. The role ensures alignment with cybersecurity standards, supports strategic initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver robust network solutions.

The Network Architect will act as the internal reference for network architecture, working closely with the other Architects in Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Cloud, Supply Chain and SAP to ensure that all network designs are secure, standardized, and well-documented.

Mission/Objectives

  • Maintain a network strategy that fully aligns with Campari standards and IT strategy.
  • Drive innovation by actively researching, evaluating, and piloting emerging network technologies to ensure Campari remains at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Foster continuous improvement and cost optimization.
  • Act as a point of reference for any network architecture topic.
  • Design and evolve secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures and services, ensuring resilience and business continuity.
  • Ensure that comprehensive documentation for all network-related processes and architectures.
  • Lead strategic network initiatives and complex troubleshooting.
  • Mentor Network Engineers and contribute to the broader IT community within the organization

Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Architect and design reliable, secure, performant and scalable network solutions for IT and OT networks, Cloud, SDWAN and SASE.
  • Proactively plan network capacity and performance requirements on a global scale, anticipating growth and emerging business needs.
  • Develop integration strategies between IT and OT networks, ensuring security, scalability, performance and serviceability.
  • Define and enforce global network architecture principles, ensuring alignment with Cyber Security, CoE and across all regions.
  • Oversee network compliance with local/international regulations such as NIS2 and industry-specific standards.
  • Participate in Enterprise Architecture routines such as the EA Community of Practices and the Design Authority Board, validate Solution Outlines and ensuring adherence to Campari Network Standards.
  • Participate in projects to ensure compliance with network standards and services.
  • Own and maintain comprehensive network architecture documentation, including topologies, configurations, and integration strategies.
  • Define and update process documentation for network design, implementation, and operations.
  • Lead the scouting and evaluation of new technologies, proposing and executing Proof-of-Concept and ensuring that evaluation is done using a formal and fair process.
  • Partner with operations teams on high-severity network incidents and participate in post-incident reviews for continuous improvement.

Key Relationships

Internal: Cybersecurity Architects, I&O Architects and Team Leads, Project Managers, CoE and Platform Architects.

External: Technology vendors, Service Providers and Service Integrators, Hyperscalers.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise network architectures across IT and OT environments, including LAN and WAN equipment, configuring SASE services and Firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge of SASE (Zscaler preferred), Firewall technologies (CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Azure, Fortinet preferred), LAN technologies (Cisco Meraki), Cloud Networking (Azure). Scripting and automation skills with Ansible are a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk management.
  • Strong documentation and process standardization skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and service management practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Availability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time

Education / Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant network certifications (e.g., Cisco, Zscaler, Palo Alto) are highly desirable.
  • ITIL V3 and/or ITIL4 certifications are a plus.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
