Norman Broadbent PLC, a leader in executive search, is partnering with a leading pharmaceutical company to appoint a Global Head of Engineering & HSE.

The company operates a Pan-European platform, developing, manufacturing, and supplying high-quality, affordable medicines to over 100 million people across Europe. With four wholly owned manufacturing sites and a broad network of external partners, the company ensures supply security. It specializes in key therapeutic areas such as Cardiology & Circulation, Diabetes, Oncology, Respiratory, CNS, and is expanding its portfolio in self-care. As a Private Equity-owned entity, it is experiencing sustainable double-digit growth and has ambitious plans for further expansion across Europe.

The Global Head of Engineering will be responsible for executing strategic engineering initiatives aligned with the company's business objectives. This role is a key member of the Product Supply Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and operational excellence.

While headquartered in Central Europe, the position does not require relocation to the head office but prefers candidates based in a European country with the ability to travel frequently.

Main Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Define and implement a unified global engineering strategy, drive process and technology standardization, advise the Product Supply Leadership Team, integrate HSE into engineering activities, ensure compliance, and promote sustainability and safety culture.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee engineering performance related to CAPEX, asset lifecycle, supply reliability, maintenance, and automation. Ensure facilities and equipment meet safety and efficiency standards. Lead multiyear CAPEX plans and major projects.
• Innovation and Technology: Promote Industry 4.0 adoption and automation, driving operational efficiency and sustainability innovations.
• People Development: Build and lead high-performing global engineering teams, develop career growth plans, and ensure the availability of SMEs for support.
• Sustainability and Value Creation: Optimize resources for cost efficiency, lead environmental initiatives, and develop site master and recapitalization plans.
• Risk Management and Resilience: Identify and mitigate engineering risks, establish contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
