Job summary

Pirelli & C. S.p.A. in Milano is seeking a Computer Vision System Engineer to join the Digital Factory Innovation department.

The role focuses on developing computer vision solutions to improve production efficiency, quality, and sustainability across manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of industrial experience and strong Python/C/C++ skills, with expertise in OpenCV and Halcon, plus ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to realize advanced vision

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science/computer engineering or related fields.
• At least 2–3 years of experience in developing vision system solutions.
• Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art Computer Vision technology (quality inspections, optical flow, image quality, camera calibration, …)
• Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art Computer Vision image processing (filters, edge detection, image segmentation, image analysis, …)
• Proficiency in coding principles, particularly Python, C#, C++, as well as CV libraries like Opencv and Halcon
• Exceptional problem-solving and teamwork skills. Proficiency in Python visualization libraries is required, along with the ability to effectively report and present results using plots and detailed reports.
• Italian, English (both oral and written proficiency).

Responsibilities

• Technology scouting: identify and analyze vision system technologies and techniques to fulfill system requirements (cameras, lights, full machines, different imaging technologies fusion).
• Computer Vision Development: design and develop computer vision and advanced algorithms to optimize production workflows and quality.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: interact with internal and external stakeholders, translate requirements into vision system concepts, present needs to partners.
• Dataset Production: project and realize complex industrial datasets, primarily images.
• Communication: present findings clearly to management and external partners.
