Trigyn has a contractual opportunity for a GIS Technician. This resource will be working at our client site in Brindisi, Italy.

Job Responsibilities:

The Geospatial Information Technician is responsible for delivering Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and developing GIS applications, services, and products.

Tasks:

1. Compile large-scale operation maps and small-scale briefing/report maps;
2. Collect geographic data, including vector, raster, and thematic data, and evaluate it;
3. Design, develop, maintain, and utilize spatial databases and data management tools;
4. Create symbology, templates, and other cartographic and geovisualization products;
5. Conduct spatial and terrain analysis studies, including predicting the effects of terrain, weather, and situations on operations;
6. Generate 3D visualization products;
7. Produce and maintain web-map services and applications;
8. Oversee Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QC/QA) on all products, including procedures for data and map accuracy;
9. Process satellite imagery for remote sensing projects, including interpretation, analysis, classification, rectification, and feature extraction;
10. Plan and oversee field surveys for geospatial data collection and validation;
11. Archive geographic data and maintain the geo-database system;
12. Ensure data security, acquisition, and sharing policies are in place;
13. Maintain map production and catalogues;
14. Incorporate innovative technologies like AI and XR into geospatial products and services;
15. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Required Skills:

• Strong practical and theoretical skills in geospatial information;
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in GIS, remote sensing, and image analysis;
• Experience with remote sensing software such as ERDAS Imagine and ERDAS LPS;
• Proficiency in open-source GIS software, ArcGIS suite, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Model Builder, and Geocortex;
• Experience managing spatial databases;
• Graphic design skills are an asset;
• Knowledge of innovative technologies including AI and XR applications is an asset;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Valid driving license for 4X4 vehicles;
• Strong client orientation skills.
