ABOUT THE JOB

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

We want you to be a part of our team, from Ispra, as a GIS expert.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

• Work on development, testing and maintenance of new and existing geospatial ASAP modules as described in the introduction
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the ASAP system
• Support the design, customization and management of the local ASAP spatial information systems for partner institutions
• Ensure ASAP system interoperability
• Assist JRC experts in GIS-related tasks
• Update and maintain the ASAP database in coordination with the other ASAP IT experts
• Ability to understand, speak and write English B2 will be an advantage

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• Excellent knowledge and experience in GIS software and tools
• Excellent knowledge in processing and analysing geospatial data and in particular in Python programming
• Good knowledge in spatially enabled relational database systems, particularly PostgreSQL and PostGIS
• Good knowledge in the use of Geoserver mapping server
