The GIAHS Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist position at FAO in Rome requests expertise in designing and implementing M&E frameworks for the GIAHS Programme. You will coordinate with FAO units and international partners to tailor indicators and reporting tools, ensuring robust data collection and knowledge sharing across sites.

The role emphasizes developing digital tools for field data, organizing expert meetings, and supporting the Secretariat in monitoring progress and reporting outcomes

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in a relevant field; consultants with a bachelor’s degree require additional years of experience.
• 5–10 years of M&E related experience depending on category A/B/C.
• Working knowledge of English.

Responsabilités

• Conduct desk review and situational analysis of M&E approaches for GIAHS.
• Collect, analyse and process data on M&E practices across sites.
• Liaise with FAO units to review M&E methodologies and indicators.
• Review UNESCO/UN entities' M&E frameworks for best practices.
• Draft and pilot-test the GIAHS M&E framework at ≥10 sites; document lessons.
• Develop a user-friendly digital data collection, monitoring and reporting tool.
