Job Description:

RINA is recruiting a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician to support geotechnical engineering projects by conducting tests on soil and rock samples in its Genoa office, within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Sample Preparation: Receive, log, label, and prepare samples for testing following established procedures.
  2. Geotechnical Testing: Perform tests such as Atterberg Limits, grain size analysis, Proctor tests, consolidation, shear, triaxial, unconfined compression, point load, and rock mass classification tests.
  3. Data Analysis and Reporting: Record, analyze, interpret, and report test data, collaborating with engineers to develop recommendations.
  4. Quality Assurance/Quality Control: Maintain calibration, perform proficiency testing, and ensure testing accuracy and compliance.
  5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Follow safety protocols, maintain a clean lab environment, and handle hazardous materials responsibly.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering. Prior experience in a geotechnical laboratory and knowledge of testing standards (ASTM, ISO, BS) are preferred. Attention to detail and adherence to testing protocols are essential.
