Hitachi Europe Srl, a multinational Japanese company, within its Industrial Components & Equipment Group (ICEG) based in Bollate (Milan), is seeking to hire a

  • General Manager ICEG-Italy

to lead the department, aiming to achieve two main goals: increasing profitable revenue in the region and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.

ICEG department focuses on:

  • Energy Efficiency: Providing an energy intelligence plan integrated into a process capable of handling complex measurements of energy consumption in real time, offering operational recommendations to optimize energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Water Management: Delivering innovative water network solutions that address causes of leakage, aiming to permanently reduce water loss.

The candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating sales, service, and marketing growth opportunities across areas such as: Commercial/Pricing Strategy, Sales Channel Strategy (including alliances, franchising, e-commerce), and New Product Development.

The role includes:

  • Implementing formalized processes to ensure consistency in sales, marketing, and service across the region.
  • Identifying performance gaps and inefficiencies, applying lean methodologies to improve them.
  • Motivating and coaching team members, fostering accountability.
  • Developing revenue models, sales/distribution channels, pricing strategies, and new product initiatives.
  • Negotiating strategic partnerships, including financial arrangements, customer sharing, and intellectual property rights.
  • Prioritizing and overseeing investments in new product development.
  • Managing project integration for new business ideas or acquisitions.
  • Developing and coaching managers and team leaders to meet targets and performance standards.
  • Managing a department with multiple teams led by managers or team leaders.
  • Overseeing local warehouse inventory to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain healthy stock levels.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the ICEG GM (Europe) with budget forecasts, briefings, and reports for negotiations with supply chain and manufacturing groups.
  • Ensuring departmental profitability for business sustainability.
  • Executing short to mid-term (1-3 years) strategic and operational plans.
  • Handling complex problems requiring extensive analysis and investigation.
  • Influencing stakeholders and communicating effectively with executive leadership.
