Job summary

SDG Group Italy is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design and deploy scalable cloud environments, primarily on Google Cloud Platform, with automation and governance baked in. You will implement IaC, CI/CD, and GitOps practices, collaborating with global teams to ensure secure and efficient data platforms.

The role requires 2+ years in GCP, containerization with Docker, orchestration via Kubernetes, and strong Python scripting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Engineering or Telecommunications or equivalent training.
• +2 years of experience in managing infrastructures in GCP environments and Python development.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, Deployment Manager) and CI/CD for data pipelines and platforms.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes for scalable data infrastructures.
• GCP Security & Governance: IAM, RBAC, Secret Manager, Zero Trust, data compliance.
• Communicate in English to work with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and deployment of cloud infrastructures: mainly in GCP, expanding to other clouds as needed.
• Develop IaC scripts and templates to automate deployment of cloud resources using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or CloudFormation.
• Evaluate and optimize cloud architectures for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Implement GitOps processes to automate deployment and management of infrastructures.
• Write scripts (Python or bash) to automate tasks and manage infrastructure.
• Configure CI/CD pipelines to deliver infrastructure changes efficiently with minimal disruption.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices and advances in cloud services.
