Job Description
- Use your analytical skills to provide timely expert medical reviews for requests evaluating the medical necessity of services that do not meet utilization review criteria.
- Review appeals for denied services based on relevant medical experience and evidence-based guidelines, in accordance with appeal policies.
- Collaborate with over 500 Physician Peers to ensure patients receive proper care through evidence-based decision-making.
- Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with referring physicians to clarify clinical information and explain review outcomes.

Qualifications Required
- M.D. or D.O. with an active, current U.S. medical license and board certification in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA).
- Recent practice experience in direct patient care within the past 18 months.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience beyond residency / fellowship.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws; URAC and NCQA standards are a plus.
- Ability to commit to a set weekly schedule (Monday through Friday).
- Must be able to complete 3 weeks of full-time training.
