Job Title: Fundraising Manager, Street Child Italy
Reporting to: Country Manager Street Child Italy
Contract Type: Full-time, one-year fixed-term contract.
Principal Location: Remote in Italy
Salary: €35,000 - €37,000 gross per annum

Street Child Italy is searching for an experienced Fundraising Manager to continue the growth of the Street Child brand in Italy with a strong focus on grants from foundations, corporations and Institutional Funders. Street Child Italy, one of 8 European members of the Street Child group, aims to contribute to the development of Street Child’s global fundraising network.

The Fundraising Manager Italy sits central to our fundraising efforts and will play a vital role in achieving this ambition. As such, you will collaborate closely with the Country Manager, providing support and assistance in all fundraising activities and, more generally, strategic ones, where necessary.

You will also work in close collaboration with our European fundraising team, located at our hubs in Barcelona and London. The Fundraising Manager Italy will lead the proposal writing and facilitate the cultivation of foundations and institutional donors in a way that both grows revenue and fosters authentic connection to the work of our local partner organizations.

The position is designed to be remote from Italy, preferably Rome or Milan. Occasional travel to our offices in Barcelona, London or our project countries will be part of the role. Street Child is an highly dynamic and fast-evolving NGO– we look for someone who not only adapts to this culture but also embraces the opportunities it offers, demonstrating strong flexibility and the ability to effectively handle unexpected situations and last-minute tasks.

Your most important responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of the Italian fundraising strategy aligned with Street Child’s European fundraising plan.
  • Raise funding from a variety of Italian foundations and institutional donors for the projects of our local partners in Africa and Asia.
  • Lead the research of funding opportunities, and writing and submissionof proposals in line with donor requirements.
  • Start and develop long-term partner relationships with Foundations, Corporate and Institutional donors in close collaboration with our local project partners,the global Programmes team and Italy Country manager.
  • Build and maintain relevant networks in philanthropy, international development and emergency aid in Italy.
  • Lead a small team of staff/interns.
  • Support other Italian fundraising channels such as individual donors, events or challenges and our communications activities.

Your profile:

  • Proven track-record in account management, corporate and/or foundations and/or institutional fundraising, and good knowledge of proposal writing in international development or humanitarian aid.
  • Strong network in Italy.
  • Italian language skills at native level, excellent written and spoken communication in Italian and English to inspire and convince the audience of your project proposals.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in a comparable position.
  • Experience in managing employees and volunteers.
  • An academic level of education in a relevant field.
  • Self-starter, who relishes working with a high degree of autonomy, a high sense of responsibility and team spirit in an intercultural environment.
  • A significant degree of flexibility and the ability to react promptly to new priorities or urgent tasks are required.
  • Structured, independent, and analytical way of working with an eye for detail, strong financial rigor and integrity.
  • Willingness to travel from time to time, in Italy and abroad.
  • Passionate identification with the values and goals of Street Child.
