Job summary

Ayesa Digital is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer with strong CMS and BI expertise to support environmental monitoring for a major European institution in Ispra, Italy. You will work on secure, scalable public-facing web apps, data-query services and BI visualisations.

You will collaborate with databases, security, and infrastructure teams, performing hands-on development and operations, data integration and documentation to ensure reliable monitoring and reporting of

Qualifications

• Degree at least Level 6 or higher per European Qualifications Framework in CS/IS/IT or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of IT experience (10+ years with a Master’s).
• 3+ years with Composite C1 CMS.
• 5+ years Tableau Desktop experience.
• Experience with public-facing web apps, CMS and enterprise BI.
• Strong SQL and DBMS knowledge (SQL Server/Oracle).
• Experience with data warehouse/ETL concepts and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain front-end/back-end components and CMS functionality.
• Investigate incidents affecting public-facing apps, CMS, BI components, and data services.
• Monitor availability, performance, logs, and data refreshes; implement fixes.
• Maintain application security, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
• Administer enterprise BI and geospatial visualization solutions and data sources.
• Support SQL data integration, validation, and performance troubleshooting.
• Manage controlled deployments, releases, testing, rollback, and runbooks.
• Maintain data integrity and documentation for operators and users.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to stakeholders.

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer with strong CMS and Business Intelligence expertise to join a scientific team supporting a major European institution in Ispra (Italy), in the field of environmental monitoring and emergency preparedness.

In this role, you will ensure the secure and reliable operation, maintenance and evolution of a landscape of public-facing web applications, data-query services and BI/data-visualisation solutions that support monitoring, reporting and public dissemination of environmental data. You will work closely with database, infrastructure, security and scientific specialists, combining hands‑on development with application operations, data integration and documentation.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, test and maintain front-end and back-end components, CMS functionality, interfaces and database-connected web presentation.
• Investigate and resolve incidents affecting public-facing web applications, CMS functions, online query services and BI components.
• Monitor availability, performance, logs and scheduled data refreshes, identify root causes and implement lasting fixes.
• Maintain application security through secure configuration, account and role management, patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Administer, maintain and enhance enterprise BI and geospatial-visualisation solutions, including workbooks, data sources, extracts, schedules, permissions and publication workflows.
• Support integration with central relational databases through SQL queries, views, data validation, reconciliation and performance troubleshooting.
• Manage and document controlled deployments and releases, including testing, rollback, release notes and post-deployment verification.
• Maintain operational data integrity, reference data and data-quality checks.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, administrator and user guides, training slides and knowledge articles.
• Provide user support, demonstrations, training and knowledge transfer to stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Degree corresponding to Level 6 or higher of the European Qualifications Framework in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT or a closely related field.
• Minimum 12 years of professional IT experience (minimum 10 years with a Master's degree).
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with Composite C1 CMS.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Tableau Desktop.
• Professional experience in the operation, maintenance and security of public-facing web applications or content-management solutions.
• Professional experience in the administration and enhancement of enterprise BI/data-visualisation solutions, including server-side publication, data-source connections, refresh schedules, permissions and dashboards.
• Strong SQL skills and practical knowledge of relational database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) for querying, integration, validation and data-quality controls.
• Knowledge of data warehouse, ETL/data-transformation and data-quality concepts.
• Knowledge of application security practices, including least privilege, patch and vulnerability management, logging and secure configuration.
• Experience with change, release, test and configuration-management practices, version control and rollback procedures.
• Excellent technical writing skills for operational, technical and end-user documentation.
• Ability to work autonomously and within cross-functional, international teams.
• English language proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

• Experience in a scientific, regulatory or environmental-monitoring context.
• Experience with geospatial data visualisation.
• Certifications related to IT service management, application operations, BI/data visualisation or cybersecurity.
• Experience working within European Institutions or large public administration environments.
