Job summary

Pete Tong DJ Academy, an online school for DJs and producers, seeks a Full Stack Engineer to join a small but growing engineering team reporting to the CTO. You will own features end-to-end from database to UI, shaping the product as the team scales.

You’ll work on onboarding experiences, subscription flows, integrations across billing, campus, CRM, and analytics, and apply AI enhancements to the product. The role combines product ownership with solid code quality and security practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and shipping web products in production, end to end.
• Strong TypeScript or similar, React and Next.js, with back-end experience: APIs, Postgres, auth and background jobs.
• Comfort with SQL and relational data modelling.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks (payments, CRM or similar).
• Habits of a good teammate: code review, tests, clear PRs, writing things down.
• Product judgement: you ask why before how, and prefer configuring a tool to building from scratch when faster.
• Fluent English. Our members and partners are global.

Responsibilities

• Subscriptions and experiments: plans and billing flows, upgrades, recovery of failed payments, and the product experiments we run to grow, such as new trial formats.
• Integrations and data: connecting billing, campus, CRM and site around one customerID, and feeding a single company dashboard.
• AI in the product: feedback on members' mixes and productions, study assistants, and automations that serve the whole company.
• Platform quality: code review, testing, deploys, security and documentation, set up properly from the start.

Pete Tong DJ Academy (MAT Academy in Italy) is an online school for DJs and electronicmusic producers, with members in 150 countries. Our courses are taught by artists suchas Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Adam Beyer and Diplo, inside a digital campus withcommunity, live sessions, a grading path and real career outlets: our Talent Pool, theFuture Talent Awards and our DISCOVR label.

We moved to a subscription model in 2025, closed a funding round in 2026, and are nowscaling. Our HQ is in Rome.

The role

We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer. You will be one of two new full stack engineers joining our current developer, in an engineering team that will keep expanding. You report directly to our Chief Product & Technology Officer, with real ownership from week one.

This is an early seat. You will ship features members use every day, help set theengineering standards we scale on, and shape what the team looks like as it grows.

What we're looking for

Must have

• Data warehousing (BigQuery), dbt or event tracking (GTM, GA4).
• Hands-on work with LLM APIs or AI-assisted development tools.
• A personal interest in DJing or music production.
