A leading engineering firm is urgently seeking FTTH Field Engineers for a rolling 6-month contract in Italy (Milan or Bologna). Responsibilities include supervising field construction, ensuring compliance with designs and safety, performing quality inspections, and managing subcontractors. Candidates must have basic experience in TLC network design and knowledge of FTTH networks, along with fluent English and Italian skills.

Competenze

• Basic experience in TLC network design, especially mobile radio.
• Basic knowledge of FTTH Open Fiber network architecture.
• Basic knowledge of excavation techniques and fiber optic cable practices.

Mansioni

Overview

Tangent International are urgently looking for a number of FTTH Field Engineer’s to work a 6 month rolling contract based in Italy (Milan or Bologna)

Responsibilities

Responsible for the engineering delivery process and results of the project, and reports to regional manager. Takes full responsibility for executing the defined actions for the assigned cities.

• Organize and supervise FTTH network field construction (trunk, distribution, and customer drop).
• Ensure that construction activities follow design drawings, technical standards, and safety rules.
• Monitor construction progress and report deviations or risks in a timely manner.
• Perform quality inspections and ensure works meet acceptance criteria.
• Enforce HSE compliance and promote safe work practices on site.
• Assist in resolving site issues and managing technical changes.
• Support fiber route adjustments and optimization based on site conditions.
• Maintain site reports, daily logs, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure design and actual execution alignment.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and local authorities.
• Provide regular updates on progress, issues, and resource needs.
• Support client acceptance and handover processes.

Qualifications

• Basic experience in TLC network design (including mobile radio)
• Basic knowledge of FTTH Open Fiber network architecture
• Basic knowledge of excavation techniques, fiber optic cable laying and splicing.
• Fluent English & Italian are mandatory
