THE OPPORTUNITY

IL MAKIAGE is seeking a part-time freelance video editor fluent in both Italian and English to support our Growth Marketing team. You’ll be responsible for localizing English-language ad creatives for the Italian market — not just translating, but adapting tone, pacing, and visuals to resonate with a local audience. Our paid social ads are constantly evolving, and we’re looking for someone who can work efficiently, independently, and creatively to produce high-impact, social-first content that drives results.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re a skilled video editor with a strong eye for design and an understanding of how to make ads perform. You can transform English ad concepts into compelling Italian versions that feel native to the market. You’re equally comfortable following creative direction and taking initiative to make smart localization decisions on your own.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Edit and adapt short-form video ads for high-scale paid social campaigns (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) — with a focus on localizing English creatives for the Italian market.
  • Translate and adapt copy, on-screen text, and audio for cultural and linguistic accuracy.
  • Leverage Gen-AI tools (e.g., ElevenLabs) to create high-quality Italian-language voiceovers and adapt English-speaking visuals for an Italian audience.
  • Review raw and existing footage to identify the strongest, most impactful moments for use in localized edits.
  • Organize and process raw footage to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with marketing managers to ensure localized versions align with campaign objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Stay current on social media trends in Italy and performance marketing best practices.
  • This is a part-time freelance position based remotely.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
  • Fluent in Italian and English (both written and spoken).
  • 3+ years of professional video editing experience, ideally in paid social advertising.
  • Comfortable communicating 100% in English within an English-speaking team environment.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Experience with color correction and Gen-AI video tools are a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
  • Collaborative work style—open to feedback and creative direction.
  • Passionate about the beauty industry and creating captivating social native content.
  • Able to work during NYC business hours or overlap at least 4–5 hours daily with the team’s schedule.
