Overview
AXA Partners is looking for a FP&A Senior Regional Controller. You will provide support on the delivery of financial results, offer some financial support to senior management and their teams, and deliver analysis that links financial reports to business strategies across the AXA Partners regions.
You will be responsible for financial planning and the coordination of financial exercises (Half Year and Full Year forecasts and actuals, revised forecasts, annual budget, and Strategic plans).
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the head of CLP FP&A to secure and manage the financial closing processes
- Consolidate closing activities (Actuals, Forecasts, Budgets, Strategic Plan) across the region and align processes securing the end-to-end closing process and validating assumptions/methodologies. Focus on areas above the Operating Earnings line, including technical analysis (Topline, Commissions, Claims, Profit share, Reinsurance Result), expenses allocations per Region/Country and per Entity (Life vs P&C). Establish relationships with Centers of Expertise (S&D, Technical Accounts, Portfolio Management, Actuarial, Underwriters) teams and consolidate the reporting templates to capture regional results during financial cycles.
- Assist the head of CLP FP&A as well as the Team in producing high-quality, accurate, and consistent presentations for both AXA Partners CLP Excom and AXA Partners Regions purposes. Interface with the AXA France Actuarial teams to ensure their inclusion and input into all required joint reporting of figures.
- Oversee the Topline deliveries from regional teams and ensure deadlines are met. Support in smoothing communication lines and suggest action plans and prioritization, including monitoring and controlling their implementation.
- Challenge the Statutory results provided either by AXA France (Half Year/Pre Close & Full Year) or by AXA Partners (Forecasts, Budgets, Strat Plan, Actuals) and monitor/explain variances
- Profitability Review: Assess which contracts have moved profitability and for which reasons – can also be done by participating in the CLP Portfolio Committee where relevant information can be collected.
- Underwriting process: Assist and follow underwriting activities of new deals for the Region to insure to correctly capture all the information in all forecasts and quarterly closing and insure correct reporting of the New Business profitability.
- Support in building the Strategic Plan and Budget deliveries for AXA Partners: liaising with countries and business Unit for the P&L projections deliveries, challenging teams in their assumptions, and supporting the implementation of top-down budget decisions as well as central tax, financial income, and reserving teams.
- Act as a finance point of contact for Regional CEO’s to and inform and defend the above.
- Support the reporting and monitoring of the financial performance of AXA Partners CLP Regions by Entity & Product
- Provide regional business lines Statutory P&L analysis (variance analysis, volume effects, risk/opportunities, etc.) and commentaries required by ExCom, and other business leaders on all quarterly/annual group submissions or on an ad-hoc basis. Support AXA Partners reporting team for Monthly Business Reporting.
- Present and deliver key messages and insights to Regional CEO’s on financial performance.
- Support the definition and implementation of Financial dashboards in support of regional business line Executive Committees and relevant functions, relying where possible on existing tools; liaising with Finance Support teams to operationalize, align, and integrate into AXA Partners Global Dashboards.
- Design & set up process improvements to secure efficiency and good coordination between the business and AXA Partners finance teams
- Utilize online and SharePoint storage and file sharing to centralize and consolidate work products, reducing version control and promoting efficiencies across the region.
- Ensure the compliance of AXA Partners’ consolidated financial statements with the existing AXA Group and IFRS standards
- Participate in inventory reserving process improvement
- Support AXA Partners senior leadership and management
- Provide ad hoc and requested analysis to support regional business planning and performance assessment. Provide input on business cases to support investment requests.
- Represent Finance in the different committees:
- Regional Performance, Local Clearances, Target Letter Monitoring, Country renewal committee, Regional/Central/Country UW Committee, FP&A Country Analysis, Regional MGMT forums, Country monthly KPI, Country Profitability Review.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum of +7 years of experience – Previous experience in a multi-national FP&A / Financial Business Partnering environment, supporting a business in a reporting/analysis role
- Masters degree in Finance/Accounting, Business or Engineering.
- Financial experience within Insurance or financial services industry;
- Very strong MS Excel skill. Good working knowledge of MS Think-cell and MS PowerPoint. Power BI is a plus
- A broad understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing complex data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting;
- Displays a high degree of commercial acumen and strategic vision;
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders including senior Management.
- Ability to listen, interpret, influence, negotiate, and challenge;
- Highly organised individual with strong prioritisation, time-management and problem solving skills;
- Strong sense of execution and result orientated mindset whilst being able to be hands-on when required;
- Team player.
- Knowledge of IFRS17 is a plus
