The position is funded within the Horizon Europe project SCALE-it, focusing on applying biotremology techniques for sustainable pest insect control. The successful candidate will investigate vibrational signals in species like Tuta absoluta, Aleurocanthus spiniferus, and Trialeurodes vaporariorum, including recording vibrational emissions, maintaining insect colonies, and conducting laboratory and semi-field experiments. The role involves analyzing vibrational signals, performing statistical data analysis, and producing technical reports.
The candidate will join the Plant Protection Unit at Fondazione Edmund Mach and will have access to specialized laboratories and equipment, especially in biotremology.
