OBXtek is staffing for a contingent Forward Planner to work the GLASS augmentation program supporting the Army Sustainment Command. This project supports the Global Logistic and Support Services (GLASS) augmentation program for the Army Sustainment Command (ASC), its subordinate commands, and Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI). This position is contingent upon contract award.

GLASS provides essential Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to support the Army’s Materiel Enterprise and supporting programs and staff support functions. It is a multi-year, global program focusing on logistics, concepts, processes, and operational and technical support.

The general tasks for this position include:

  1. Assist in planning, logistics estimates, concepts of support, and coordination with joint service component commands and subordinate headquarters. Broad experience is required to understand the effects of operations on theater posture; provide detailed analysis to integrate current assets and recommend additional forces.
  2. Develop detailed concepts for presentation at the three and four-star level, utilizing comprehensive knowledge of sustainment and its integration.
  3. Translate concepts into detailed executable plans and create Time Phased Force Deployment Data for mobilization support.
  4. Travel to remote locations to conduct site surveys for emerging mission requirements.
  5. Quantify life support requirements and prepare estimates for engineering planning.
  6. Integrate strategic direction into command messages that encompass future operations and foster communication among partners in the sustainment enterprise.
  7. Research and respond to inquiries.
  8. Manage regional and worldwide plans in collaboration with the AFSB.
  9. Conduct research and analysis of policies, regulations, directives, and industrial issues.
  10. Assist in preparing briefings and special studies.
  11. Maintain operations and plans files in SharePoint.
  12. Monitor and adapt to changing requirements.
  13. Perform gap analysis on OPLANs and CONPLANs.
  14. Track ongoing operations and exercises.
  15. Participate in training and exercises.
  16. Develop course curricula.
  17. Manage Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) injects and exercise scheduling.
  18. Conduct training courses for government personnel.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum of 20 years of work experience, including 15 years relevant to logistics operations, training, and planning.
  • At least 10 years of experience working with joint, Army, or component-level headquarters to develop and execute logistics plans.
  • Proficiency with the Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) Tool Program.
  • Understanding of the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP).
  • Broad knowledge of the Army sustainment enterprise and its relation to other headquarters to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Recent experience at the one-star or higher command level preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
