Role and responsibilities
The selected candidate will work within Etifor's FORESTS Program, reporting to the Program Coordinator, and will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end accounts and projects related to forest and ecosystem restoration, including:
- a. Conducting areas scouting and feasibility assessments, including investment due diligence;
- b. Designing projects, defining activities, deliverables, deadlines, and assembling teams;
- c. Managing project budgets to ensure financial viability and resource efficiency;
- d. Leading project teams and coordinating activities;
- e. Selecting and supervising external suppliers;
- f. Handling project accounting and administrative tasks, including preparing reports;
- g. Managing communication with stakeholders to ensure project success;
- Supporting measurement, reporting, and verification of climate, water, and biodiversity impacts according to standards;
- Assisting in developing new project proposals and tenders for Italian and international clients.
These responsibilities may be tailored to match the individual's skills and ambitions.
Education and Experience
Applicants should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in roles such as:
- Consultant or employee in private or public sectors dealing with forest management, land planning, nature-based solutions, carbon projects, etc.;
- Researcher or scholar in relevant university departments;
- Forestry technician or agronomist, either self-employed or in firms;
- Other related work, research, or volunteer experience.
Required skills
- Fluent in Italian and proficient in English (spoken and written);
- Strong analytical skills for data analysis and reporting;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Problem-solving mindset and positive communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Basic knowledge of GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS); knowledge of additional tools is a plus;
- Driver's license and access to a car are preferred.
