  • Footwear Designer

For our R&D Footwear team in Italy, we are looking for a Footwear Designer, responsible to turn the product brief (cycling footwear category of the assigned brand) into product design, ensuring a balance between aesthetics, brand design language, innovation and product performance. Could it be you?

  • YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Being responsible for the industrial design of the assigned brand's product and the early stages of development with the supplier, in accordance with the brief's requirements (quality, performance, raw materials, aesthetic and functional innovation, price point, design language, etc.);
  • Prepare stylesheets and tech-packs from concepts created by external studios or internal teams - in collaboration with the Development team - so that the supplier has all the necessary tools to build physical prototypes;
  • Actively participate in the development flows of assigned projects, taking into account product timelines, target costs and requirements defined with the product and brand team in the phases under its management;
  • Contribute to the definition of materials, finishes and colors (colors in range and SMU) based on brand requirements;
  • Support the design team in correcting defects in development samples;
  • Contribute to the management and editing of 2D technical drawings of patterns and hard components;
  • Review of 3D modelling in order to understand the volume and construction of soles or other components and to instruct external suppliers for modifications;
  • Collect product feedback (internal team, market,...) in order to improve the design;
  • Carry out product tests on bicycle in order to collect product information;

Visits to suppliers and participation in industry events / fairs.

  • YOUR SKILLS
  • Ability to choose material finishes, suitable colours of printed or applied graphics (and related technologies) of all footwear component materials;
  • Understanding the technical and aesthetic features of the cycling shoe product;
  • Fluency in technical English (Italian or another European language is a plus);
  • Organization and attention to detail;

Willingness to travel to Asia.

  • OUR REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Industrial Design or alternative study / professional path, relevant to the required competencies;

Previous experience in industrial design of soft products (e.g. bags, shoes, helmets...).
