Location : The majority of work will take place on-site at stadiums in Bari, with further opportunities for travel across Italy and Europe.

Contract : Freelance, Casual

Salary : Starting from €130 daily rate, based on experience

Start Date : Immediate

What The Job Is All About

We are recruiting to fill Football Video Systems Technician roles within our expanding operations in Serie A and Serie B. There may be opportunities to work across tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of sports technology as part of a dedicated and dynamic team.

Working day expectations :
  • Match Day -> Arrival up to 7 hours pre-Kick Off
  • Match Day -> End of day up to 2 hours post game completion
  • There are also varied needs during setup days which may require assistants to be present on the day(s) before match day.
  • The role requires flexibility with work hours depending on onsite needs.

We are looking for committed and passionate people willing and able to work throughout the football season, mostly on weekends with some midweek fixtures.

We will provide technical training, support, and full exposure to our systems to help you perform your match day tasks and develop professionally. Working as a Football Technology Operations Assistant is a great entry point into full-time employment with Hawk-Eye Innovations Ltd.

Key Responsibilities

The main purpose of this role is to supervise and manage all technical equipment in the stadium for our three football systems: Video Assistant Referee (VAR), Goal-Line Technology (GLT), and Electronic Performance Tracking System (EPTS).

Specific responsibilities include :
  • Check that all servers and equipment in the van or control room are functioning and resolve issues if necessary;
  • Connect the control room with the remote centre and test the connection with the technical guarantee in Lissone;
  • Ensure correct installation of audio and Referee Review Area (RRA) systems on the sidelines and test with Lissone;
  • Capture video signals from all cameras framing the field and provide outputs for GLT / Semi Automatic Offside (SAO); VAR; VORcam;
  • Complete checklists, report uncompleted checks, and specify reasons;
  • Monitor GLT and VAR systems during matches, communicate problems to the remote centre, and resolve them with support;
  • Fill in match reports and other required documentation;
  • Assist the GLT Operator with dismantling activities.

  • Willingness to travel locally and possibly across Italy;
  • Driving license.
