FAO in Rome invites a highly qualified Fishery Officer (Aquatic Food Value Chains) to lead technical analyses, policy support and project work within NFIMV. The role focuses on value chain development, reducing loss and waste, and promoting sustainable aquatic food systems in member nations.

The position is a fixed-term, two-year appointment with potential extension, reporting to the Senior Fisheries Officer.

Competenze

• Advanced university degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum five years of experience in food value chain development.
• Working knowledge of English and another FAO official language.
• Ability to build effective relationships and share knowledge.

Mansioni

• Researches, analyzes and provides access to fisheries and aquaculture data, statistics and information to support programmes and services.
• Produces technical reports, analyses and inputs for technical documents and web pages.
• Provides technical, statistical and analytical services and backstopping to field projects.
• Promotes knowledge sharing and capacity development with Members and partners.
