A global industrial provider is seeking a Financial Accountant based in Sesto San Giovanni. The role involves managing accounting operations and ensuring compliance with VAT and tax regulations. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Italian GAAP, proficiency in SAP, and at least 5 years of experience in a multinational environment. This position offers a hybrid working pattern.

Financial Accountant

You will support general accounting operations, month-end closings, and statutory compliance, with a focus on VAT, taxes, and local reporting requirements. The role also includes collaboration with our Shared Service Center and support in audits and travel expense management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage general accounting activities and perform B/S reconciliations
2. Assist in performing month-end and year-end closing activities following Group procedures, including accruals and payroll accounting entries
3. Assist in preparing the Annual Financial Statement in compliance with local regulations, including assistance in corporate income tax calculations and adjusting entries
4. Ensure compliance with Italian VAT/TAXES and other requirements, including:

• Good knowledge of VAT law and its requirements/regulations - monthly VAT calculation, fill in tax payment form F24
• Withholding taxes
• Accurate maintenance of VAT Register, Journal Entry Register, Inventory and Fixed Asset register
• Support in reviewing annual/quarterly VAT returns, Mod.770

Support shared services as a key contact for:

• General ledger specific accounting needs
• Accounts payable, sharing expertise to enhance their accounting and control
• Vendor and e-invoicing reconciliation/archiving

Support external & internal audits

Manage employees' travel expenses

Submit cross-border transactions to SDI (Authority Exchange System)

Handle accounting activities related to imports

Essential Skills & Experience

• Solid knowledge of accounting principles (Italian GAAP and IFRS)
• Good knowledge of SAP ERP system
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Proactive mindset and analytical approach to solving financial challenges
• Fluent in English
• At least 5 years of experience in a structured multinational company
