Finance Project Manager

Purpose of the job:

The Project Controller is responsible for the financial management and control of a project portfolio. At this level, he/she operates with full autonomy for large projects and may supervise a team of project controllers for a portfolio of large and complex projects. Acts as the financial support and representative for the Project Manager, ensuring financial transparency of the project.

Key accountabilities

• Ensure project accounting complies with company guidelines.
• Organize project reviews from start to end of each contract.
• Manage control and financial reporting of projects according to internal control rules.
• Ensure the financial situation reported in Sector Project Reviews is accurate and compliant with Alstom rules.
• Support the Project Manager and other project functions as a finance partner.
• Prepare project review content and periodic financial presentations with the project team.
• Understand project documents and systems, actively managing financial implications.
• Produce all requested financial project reports (forecast cash flow, revenue, gross margin, etc.).
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls, including DoA.
• Establish onshore projects in coordination with the local finance team.
• Maintain full knowledge of all financial movements within the project scope, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation of project results and balance sheet positions.
• Coordinate with other expert functions such as tax, treasury, insurance, and contract management.
• Ensure consistency of all internal and external claims in financials.
• Assess and account for project risks and opportunities, supporting correct risk recognition and valuation.
• Provide management with reliable financial data for decision-making.
• Conduct ad-hoc reporting and special investigations as needed.
• Ensure alignment with project teams (Planner, Sourcing, etc.).

Mandatory qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a finance-related field (accounting, finance, business administration, economics).
• 6-8 years of controlling experience in large multinational construction projects (Senior PC).
• Experience in project accounting and controlling.
• Experience in contract management.
